On the Second Sunday in Advent, we traveled to our closest Ordinariate parish, St. Aelred Catholic Church for the visit of our bishop, the Most Reverend Steven J. Lopes. Bishop Lopes confirmed 11 of our Western NC Ordinariate folks, most of whom were Protestants being received into full communion with the Catholic Church. Combined with a group from Atlanta and the St. Aelred parish, 40 were confirmed and 5 fully initiated into the Catholic Church (baptized, confirmed and receiving first Holy Communion).
