The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is a service of Christian worship originating at King’s College, Cambridge and traditionally celebrated on or near Christmas Eve. The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine short Bible readings or lessons from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, ending with the visit of the Magi. Readings are interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir anthems. To help keep the Christmas spirit alive through the 12 days of Christmas, we will celebrate this service with beautiful choral music on Tuesday, December 28. The featured choir for this service is the Queen of Angels Treble Schola, the core of whom are the Weaver sisters who often sing at Ordinariate Masses. Their repertoire includes a wealth of English Choral music and polyphony.
